Hendrie joins Town

Nuneaton Town FC are pleased to welcome striker Stuart Hendrie to the club.

Stuart started his footballing journey with Aston Villa joining their academy at the age of eleven before moving on to have spells with Tamworth and Walsall. He was then released by Walsall and began his journey in Non-League with Studley. He then went on to make appearances for Coleshill Town, Stratford Town and Alvechurch before a successful season at Atherstone Town lead to a two week trial at Morecambe who eventually signed the 5ft 9in striker.

Stuart is the younger brother of former Aston Villa and England international Lee Hendrie and has most recently played for the likes of Coventry United, Heather St Johns and Walsall Wood.

Russell Dodd said “We are delighted to get Stu over the line after many weeks of talks. Other clubs would have loved to sign Stu and we are so glad he could see what the Nuneaton Town project is all about. Stu already knows many of our squad, which is a bonus and he played for me at Highgate, Coton Green, Walsall Wood, Coventry United and Sutton Town. Stu brings a wealth of experience from all levels and will be a great asset to the team and club”.

Welcome to the club, Stuart!
