Nuneaton Town's short trip to Saffron ended in defeat. With the Leicestershire team scoring from their only shot on target. Neither team had much to play for so joint managers Darren Acton and Russell Dodd decided to rotate the starting 11.

Jackson Acton made his first start for the club, collecting MOTM. Alongside Callum Thorpe and Jake Lamb getting the chance to show their ability. Youngster Josh Whitehouse made a long awaited appearance of the bench.

The first game started with The Town dominating play, although no real chance was made, with 13 minutes gone jeers from the away fans arose as the Saffron keeper kits his own player from his throw. Luckily they were able to clear the ball and create the first goal threat of the day, in the end it was saw out by Jackson.

16 minutes gone and the best chance so far came. James Spruce received the ball amd skilfully turned through to Saffron defenders. His ball to Harrison was just to heavy and rolled on out of play for a goal kick.

Saffron free kick is launched forward by the keeper who put it in a dangerous position. Only for Trevor Edwards to head the ball back to Jackson who seems yo have had a comfortable start to his full debut. 30 minutes played.

37 minutes. James Spruce intercepts the play and looks to burst forward. The Saffron midfielder clips him on his way past. The referee brings play back after an the advantage was lost and hands out the first yellow of the day.

With only a few minutes left in the first half, James Spruce finds himself down the right flank again. He plays a lovely ball into the box where both James Harrison and Declan Somel were lurking. However both players miss the ball, ending the final chance of the first 45.

Halftime: Saffron Dynamo 0-0 Nuneaton Town.

The second half was started with Louis Baker down the middle after being subbed on for James Spruce.

50 minutes. A slick 1-2 between Louis Baker and Trevor Edwards. However the Town's first chance of the second half ends in a shot placed wide of the post.

55 minutes. Baker has the ball dropped to his feet by the Saffron keeper but the defender gets back just in time.

72 minutes. Goal for Saffron Dynamo. Jack Scott is sent through on goal places the ball past Jackson.

90+4 minutes. Loyiso Recci has his effort saved by the keeper after a free kick from Callum Carsley.

Full time Saffron Dynamo 1-0 Nuneaton Town.

The game ends in defeat for the champions for only the 3rd time this season in the league.
