Nuneaton Town's 3rd game of the Midland League season takes them to the outskirts of Wolverhampton to take on Wednesfield.

Both sides are at opposite ends of the table going into this game, Nuneaton with 6 points out of 6 after beating Paget Rangers 6-1 and Chelmsley Town 2-0, while Wednesfield have lost both of their games 5-0, to Saffron Dynamo and Smethwick Rangers.

Wednesfield Social Club were formed in 1961, and joined the West Midland League First Division 10 years later having been promoted through the Wolverhampton and District Amateur League. They reached the Birmingham Senior Cup final in 1985 losing to Aston Villa. They were JW Hunt Cup winners in 2008.

Their highest recorded attendance is 480, while their lowest holds the Midland Alliance record of just 10.

Wednesfield finished 6th in last seasons Midland League Division 1, with 72 points from 38 games, narrowly missing out on the play offs on goal difference.

Sean Geddes is player manager for Wednesfield, he became viral for his rabona goal for Worcester City v Barrow in the FA Trophy in 2014.

Directions from Nuneaton:

Take the A444 south to the junction with the M6, follow the M6 north to J10a and take the exit onto the M54. At J1 of the M54 turn left towards Wolverhampton A460. Follow for around a mile then at the Berry Brook Farm restaurant turn left onto Pear Tree Lane B4484. After going straight on at 2 roundabouts you will be on Amos Lane. The ground is on the left after a few hundred yards, opposite a large field on the other side of the road.

Bus 57 towards Bilston bus station goes at 10 mins past each hour from Wolverhampton bus station and goes directly past the ground. The bus back is nearly an hour after the game finishes at 17:45. The 59 bus from Lichfield Road (left out the ground then right at the end of the road) may be a quicker option.
