Nuneaton Town get a huge opportunity to take one step closer to their first silverware, as they take on Paget Rangers for the second time this season. The Town’s previous encounter with Tuesday’s opposition saw an exhilarating 6-1 victory, that started their season with a bang.

In the previous round, Nuneaton saw out an entertaining 3-2 victory against Coventry Copsewood with goals from Callum Carsley, Harry Jackson and James Harrison. The visitors earned a 2-1 victory at Wednesfield Community to get their name in the hat for tonight’s fixture.

Nicknamed 'The Bears', Paget Rangers were formed in 1938 by pupils of Paget Road School in Erdington, Birmingham. They went out of business in 2002 but were resurrected in 2012 by supporters and have risen from Step 9 to Step 6 in that time. They have groundshared since 1993, having formerly played at Springfield Road in Sutton Coldfield, they have played at either Sutton Coldfield Town or Castle Vale ever since. For the 2024/25 season they will play home games at the Castle Vale stadium. Paget Rangers finished last season 19th of 20 teams in the same division (no relegation took place), with 27 points from 38 games, and will be looking to improve on that record this season.

Fans of Nuneaton Borough will remember when Boro and Paget Rangers met on 9th March 1996, a 2-0 loss in the Southern League Midland Division in front of a crowd of 1179 at Manor Park, but Boro still won the league title that season.
