It's first versus second on Tuesday as Nuneaton welcome Heather St John's to the Oval in what could be a crucial tie at this stage of the season.

Heather St John's have 4 wins from 4 so far this season, having enabled Nuneaton to go back to the top spot by them beating Coventry Copsewood 4-1 on Saturday. Nuneaton have played one game more, with 4 wins and a draw from 5 games.

Heather (pronounced Heether by locals) play at St John's park in the village of Heather just outside Ibstock near Coalville. They were established in 1949 (so are celebrating their 75th anniversary this year congratulations to them), and named after the local church. They spent most of their early years in the Coalville and District League before being promoted to the Leicester and District League in the 1970s.

They joined the Midland Combination in 2003, briefly changing their name to Heather Athletic before reverting back to St John's in 2007 as they reached the Midland Combination Premier for the first time. They have been promoted to Step 5 on 2 occasions in 2011 and 2019, both as league champions; firstly to the Midland Alliance and secondly to the United Counties Premier Division North. They were relegated back to their current level in 2023.

They are also Leicestershire and Rutland Senior Cup winners on 3 occasions, 2010, 2011 and 2019.

Like with many teams Nuneaton Town will face in their first season at Step 6, it is a first competitive meeting between the two sides.

Please see the match day information page for directions to The Oval.
