Nuneaton Town round up pre-season by locking horns with Sphinx. Nuneaton Borough fans will be familiar with Sphinx after Boro beat them in the Birmingham Senior Cup last season, with the BBC in attendance covering the financial and ground issues that were troubling Boro before their demise.
Another of the Northern Premier League Division 1 Midlands teams, they finished 16th in their first season after being promoted from the Midland League Premier in 2023.
Directions from Nuneaton town centre:
Take the A444 south all the way to Coventry. At the roundabout at Gosford Green, take the 1st exit signposted Rugby/Binley/Coombe Abbey onto Binley Road. Take the first right onto Stoke Green, take the 2nd left on Bull's Head Lane, then the 3rd right onto Siddeley Avenue, Sphinx Drive is the first left and the ground is at the end of the drive.
Public transport is widely available. Trains are available to Coventry at 37 past every hour and take 22 mins, from there take bus 11electric to Starley Gardens (city centre), and bus 3 or 13 (3 goes nearer) from Starley Gardens goes to Stoke Green and is a few mins walk to the ground from the above directions. Return trains from Coventry are 56 mins past each hour. Alternatively bus 148 also goes straight to Coventry city centre where you can connect with bus 3 or 13 towards Stoke Green.
