Nuneaton Town, fresh from their opening fixture on Saturday against Paget Rangers, travel to Coleshill to face Chelmsley Town on Monday night.

Chelmsley Town were established in 1927 as Christchurch Football Club before being renamed to Chelmsley Town in 1968. They have played in the Midland Combination/Midland League since 1972 going between it's divisions during the years since. They have groundshared with Coleshill for the last decade.

Chelmsley Town finished 17th in the Midland League Division 1 last season with 33 points from 38 games. They drew their opening fixture on Saturday at Lutterworth Athletic 1-1.

Former Premier League striker and recent Forest Green manager Troy Deeney counts Chelmsley as one of his former clubs. Stuart Hendrie's dad Paul Hendrie, who also played for Nuneaton himself, also played for Chelmsley.

Directions by road:

Take the A444 south to the M6, then join the M6 towards Birmingham. At Junction 4 take the A446 (right at the roundabout) towards Coleshill. Stay on the A446 at the first roundabout and then take the slip road right, towards Coleshill. After a couple of hundred yards turn right onto Packington Lane and the ground is on the left.

Public transport:

Train travel is available via Coleshill Parkway. Recommended train is - Nuneaton 18:45 - Coleshill Pkwy 19:00, then Coleshill Pkwy 22:36 - Nuneaton 22:50.

The X13 bus from Coleshill Parkway stops at the end of Packington Lane and will save the 2.6 mile walk from the train station. This runs approximately once an hour.
