Management team commit to the Club
Nuneaton Town are delighted to announce that our joint-managers, Darren Acton and Russell Dodd, have pledged their commitment to the club by signing contracts until May 2027.
This news comes after both Darren and Russell were subject to approaches in recent weeks from a number of clubs higher up in the non-league pyramid.
Darren, Russell and the Board have developed a close working relationship and the Board were unanimous in their desire to show commitment to what Darren and Russell are doing with the team and allow them to focus on this without any distractions.
In response, Darren and Russell said “It is an honour for us to be given our roles at this fantastic club. We want to get the club up the leagues and bring the spark back to Nuneaton Town fans once again”.
They added “Signing contracts gives us and the Board a sense of security so that we can concentrate on the pitch and lets the Board focus on getting the club back to Nuneaton with their own home. It isn’t going to be an easy process and it will have its ups and downs. We would ask that you put your faith in us, and we will do our very best to get us back up the leagues!”.
As Darren and Russell state, stability in management will enable the Board to focus on the future direction of the club, including its number one priority: getting the club back to Nuneaton at the earliest opportunity.
Chair Ian Cook said “I would like to emphasise the significance of Darren and Russell securing formal contracts. This not only underlines our commitment to their vision and leadership but also establishes a clear framework for the club’s future direction.”
Cook continued “Now that we have reached the six-month stage since the club’s formation and have three months of the playing season under our belts, we have a much better understanding of the running of the club and where we are at. The securing of the contracts does not impact on our planned budget and provides stability. This really does enable the Board to concentrate all our efforts into our off-the-field plans, with a return to Nuneaton being top of the agenda”.
