Former Highgate Captain Joins The Town

Nuneaton Town FC are delighted to announce that former Highgate United Captain Trevor Edwards has agreed to join the club for the upcoming campaign.

Edwards is a hard working central midfielder/full back with a passion for running meaning fans can expect to spot “Trev” all over the pitch on a matchday.

Trevor started his career with Solihull Moors U18’s where he won the Midland Floodlit League. He then moved on to Highgate United spending 12 years there and being part of the side that won Step 6. Edward’s loyalty to the club was rewarded with a four year stint as club captain.

After agreeing to join the club, Trev said "“Firstly I’m delighted to be joining the club. Everyone knows about the history and reputation of Nuneaton. It’s a club renowned for its supporters and I’m really looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere and getting to know the fans. Hopefully they will see a player who gives everything on the pitch and whose experience can help with some of the younger players. I spoke to the management staff who I know well and they shared their plans for the season and I was instantly sold. I’m looking forward to getting a full pre season under my belt and hitting the ground running when the season comes around.

Joint Manager Russell Dodd who has worked with Edwards during his time at Highgate said “Trev is another great piece to the jigsaw that the management team are building. I am personally pleased with Trev signing as he has played for me before and I know what he offers to the team. He’s a hardworking player who is also very vocal and will organise the team. He also offers us some versatility being able to play in the midfield or the defence. Trev is another player I know the fans will love.”

Welcome to the club Trevor.
