Both teams were looking for a bounce back from their recent games. Nuneaton Town's last match saw them knocked out of the cup on penalties to Lichfield and Chelmsley losing at home.
The 3rd meeting this season between the two sides was kick-started by The Town.
The first chance of the game came at the 12 minute mark from Danico Johnson who worked himself into space but saw his shot glide just wide of the post.
It didn't take long for the next opportunity for Nuneaton Town as in the 15th minute James Spruce was played down the right-hand side by Trevor Edwards. However, the attempted cross was blocked by the Chelmsley defence, which led to a corner delivered by Callum Carsley that created a scramble in the box, unfortunately nothing came of it.
Not long after, Aaron Williams cut onto his right foot on the edge of the box, but hit it over the bar. Ending a piece of nice passing play from the Town. (23 minutes)
It had been all Nuneaton Town so far and the hunt for a goal continued, with Danico Johnson finding the ball at his feet from the flick on by James Harrison. However, once again his shot curled just past the post.
The Town's misfortune continued as in the 35 minute we had another attempt fly just wide, this time from James Spruce.
With a mere minute left of the first half Dominic Perkins saw his effort cleared off of the line. Further adding to the Town's frustration.
The ref called for half time allowing the teams to re-gather.
It didn't take long for the second half to produce the first goal, as in the 51 minute Mark Rose for the visitors slotted the ball into an empty net after an unfortunate error from the keeper (0-1).
Just 2 minutes later Declan Somel scored another crucial goal for The Town, heading the ball home from a lovely delivery from Callum Carsley (1-1).
In the 71st minute Trevor Edwards looked to carry the next big chance however, his cross was missed by all in the box rolling out for a goal kick.
The next chance of the game came in the 80th minute as Callum Carsley had a free kick in a dangerous area. He went for goal but hit it straight at the keeper who dropped it but reclaimed the ball before any damage was done.
The referee then blew the final whistle ending what had been our second draw on the trot.

Reaction:
Coach Dan Kembery shared his thoughts on the game.
What were your general thoughts on the game?
"I think it was a tough game as Chelmsley sat back and were difficult to break down. But we have to find a way of breaking teams like this down using tempo and movement off the ball."
Do you think the weather played a part today?
"The conditions were terrible with the wind and the rain, however it was the same for both teams."
How do we start turning these draws into wins?
"I think we need to start being ruthless from set pieces and in front of goal. We definitely have the ability to put teams to bed within the squad, we just need to keep going, be positive and prepare right."
What are your thoughts going into our next match against Stapenhill?
"Looking forward to what will be another good challenge away at Stapenhill, they’ve done well against other teams at the top of the table, so we have to go in focused and make sure we’re on it from the get go."
